These are the last of the vacation photos, the stragglers who didn’t come in with the rest of the herd.

My in-laws aren’t really photo people. I have a wall of photos in my house, a display of all of the faces we love, but the last family photo I have of us and my in-laws was literally taken on my wedding day, almost 11 years ago. So, this vacation, I wanted photos of them and made it my mission to get those shots.

Now, my father-in-law is a wacky old man. To get him to sit still, shut up and smile for a photo is almost as easy as spotting a unicorn and a pegasus swimming with a mermaid.

I’m asking for a round of applause here, because I managed to get a few photos where he did exactly that. Silent, still, smiling. To achieve this feat, I had to take as many as six photos of him in a certain pose, as quickly as I could. I have hundreds of gif-ready photos of him, but it was all totally worth it. 🙂

We miss these people so much. Still, we had such a blast, and can’t wait for the next visit. Also, my photo wall is getting an upgrade. 🙂
