Exploring Bowness Park

Now that the weather is getting better, we’ve had more opportunities to explore Calgary. We’ve been living here for 7 months now (SE-VEN, holy crap, when did that happen?) and still haven’t seen most of what Calgary has to offer.

Friends have recommended the Bowness Park trip multiple times, but though we’ve been in the area, we’ve never actually went to the park. Well, that changed a few weeks ago. You know, back when the sun knew it was spring in Calgary.

I don’t know what caused the crap weather we’ve had for the last week–we were back in coats and hats–but it seems Mr. Sun’s come out to play today. So booyah.

Anyway, Bowness Park. This is such a beautiful place to visit, with really great picnic areas and playgrounds for the kids. I can’t wait for summer so we can float down the river in a canoe or something.

We found some rocks for Kayla’s ever-growing rock collection, ate a treat from the cafe, and soaked up so much sun that we were all a little red afterwards. Sleeve tans are the funniest.

If you couldn’t tell, I’m so ready for warmer weather.

Anyway, photos.

Isn’t Kayla the absolute cutest in that tutu? She’s never been into dresses until recently–she’s more of a jeans and sneakers kinda gal, like her mom. Yet she’s developed this crush on tutus. I must say, I’m loving this evolving style of hers, and all the fashion ideas she suddenly has.

Mom-moment over.

If you’re looking for a weekend read, allow me to direct you to A Study of Ash & Smoke’s little e-book. It’s been such an epic week so far, with reviews already coming in.

This is what’s been said.

I’m so excited, folks. This dream has been long in the making.

Have a good weekend!
