Honestly, this is only half a post. Just wanted to drop in and let you know we’re still breathing here in our new corner of the world.
Immigration isn’t a simple thing, but I have to say moving to Canada is superior. If you want people who will welcome you with open arms and pretty much bend over backwards to make you feel at home, come to Canada. The thing they tell you about Canadians being super friendly isn’t exaggerated. In fact, the friendly is abundant here.
I pretty much felt like I had a lobster tail or something while walking down the streets last week – everybody was smiling at us. Everybody. Random people making conversations? Check. Please, thank you and have a nice day? Check. Folks holding doors for other folks? Check.
It’s like we’ve stepped into an alternate reality. I LOVE IT.
Don’t worry, I know I’m stuck in the honeymoon period. Everything is glittery candy floss and rainbows farts, but the difference between here and Europe is still staggering.
I’ll do a full post on the first week soon, and will overload you with photos too. This is more of a thank-you-for-bearing-with-me kind of thing. I promise though, the posting schedule will be back to normal before you know it.
Thanks for stopping by,
Yolandie
