The other day, we went to this muscle car exhibition at CentrO, Oberhausen.
Jan is a pretty big car enthusiast. So when he found out about this car show, he was firing on all cylinders to get there. Especially when he heard there would be Mustangs, among the other American-loved cars. We saw Oldsmobiles, Dodges and Buicks, Fords, Chevs and much more.
Cars like these have always appealed to me, even though I absolutely hate driving. I like the clean lines and workmanship on these babies, and there’s something to be said for the glint of sunlight reflecting off a car’s body, following you as you inspect the vehicle. The way these cars roar does make you feel excitement in the pit of your stomach too. Maybe if I drove a Mustang, I’d feel different about driving in general.
The live band, strumming all kinds of Rockabilly tunes, and the girls on roller-skates were awesome. The music gave the exhibition an authentic American feel, if you know what I mean. Even Kayla (who was otherwise completely bored) was entertained by the sounds and danced a little. She enjoyed looking at the cars only until she spotted the river and it’s scaled inhabitants. You know how that kid feels about fish. We looked at some of the cars, had yummy ice cream, looked at the fish and saw more cars.
Have a look at these babies. Also, note my expert blurring of plates. I’m a pro at this, I assure you. 😛
Pretty cool, don’t you think?
Have a good one, folks!
