My transformation into an Ohuhu girlie wasn’t gradual. More like one moment, I tried one of their products, and the next, I belonged to them.
On that note, this isn’t a sponsored post. All opinions and purchases are my own.
I’ve been messing with my alcohol markers for long enough now that I figured it’s the right time to invest in marker paper. So, of course, I chose Ohuhu. No brainer.
Ohuhu Double-Sided Kamakou Bleedproof Marker Pad
- Available in different sizes, but I got the 7″ x 10″ (254x178mm) large pad.
- At the time of writing this post, the price was CAD 27.99 on Amazon, but I got mine on sale for CAD 22.39.
- 160 lb/280 gsm heavyweight smooth drawing paper.
- Warm white finish.
- 50 sheets/100 pages.
- Acid-free pages that prevent yellowing and fading.
- Spiral-bound with a hard cardboard back cover.
- The thick, smooth sheets prevent ink from pooling or bleeding through, effectively making each sheet fully double-sided. (I didn’t believe this when I read it. I know better than to doubt the Ohuhu designers now.)
- This is the second generation of their marker paper, offering a fast drying time with excellent blendability.
- The blank cover is made of 340 gsm cardstock, allowing customisation.
- The perforated edges allow easy removal from the pad.
- The instruction sheet is made of the same paper as the actual notebook, so you can test all the above claims before you even open the marker pad.

My Review
I mean… Ohuhu does not lie. This marker pad, like every other product of theirs I own, does exactly what it claims.
I chose the darkest colours to test their ‘doesn’t bleed through’ claim, and they didn’t bleed through. Only when I held the card up to the light could I even tell there was something on the back. Then, just for sh*ts and giggles, I created the most colour-saturated design for the cover page, and that didn’t bleed through either. Sure, the paper is double as thick, but still. I’m stunned.

Will I reasonably use the double-sided feature of these pages? For practice, sure, but if I’m creating a commission, or art to sell/gift, probably not. It’s nice to have, though.
This is also one of those things that just proves the right paper makes all the difference. Alcohol markers bleed LIKE CRAZY on most card stock, printer paper, watercolour paper, and acrylic paper. On the marker paper, there’s barely any movement beyond your crisp lines. Love it.
Also, the blending is incredible. Even streaky applications smooth out as the ink interacts with the paper, offering those beautiful, seamless blends. Coloured pencils and acrylic markers layer beautifully on the alcohol markers, too.
As with all Ohuhu products, the value for money is mind-boggling. Kind of makes you wonder exactly how much the other brands inflate their prices just because.
I can’t recommend this product and brand enough. Seriously. Come to the Ohuhu side, friends. Seasoned and new artists alike will love it here.
Until next time.
