I’m stoked to share our photo diary from the 2024 Calgary Stampede with you! Can I get a yahoo?

We had such a good time at the greatest outdoor show on earth!

This year, the attractions included hot Cheeto-pickle pizzas, cheeseburger-flavoured ice cream, watermelon burgers, mac & cheese popcorn poutine, and whipped lemonade (among others). A record-breaking amount of visitors joined the fun this year, so it was busy. Still totally worth it, though.

We tried the mac & cheese popcorn poutine this year, and though it was good, it wasn’t our favourite. Some good things deserve to stand on their own.

After hanging around the midway, we headed to the GMC Stadium for the chuckwagon races, relay, and Grandstand Show.

The Young Canadians dazzled once again (I swear, I’ve never seen so much energy on one stage). Though I’m not the world’s greatest fan of country music (please don’t come at me with pitchforks!!) I really enjoyed the performance by the Hunter Brothers, and seeing Boston Dynamics bots dance in sync had to be one of the coolest things ever.

The other performers, Jose and Dani (those peeps have core strength in spades), Tammy Firefly, and Urias Globe of Daredevils were super entertaining, too!

I’m beyond grateful for my Loop earplugs, though (I’m not being compensated to mention this product, but it is one I use often because it works so darn well). Without them, the fireworks show and grand finale might’ve sent my neurodivergent arse into a meltdown. If you find yourself in the Stampede grounds next year and you tend towards sensory overload, do keep in mind that something to cancel the noise might be a solid investment. It gets LOUD.
