Yes, I’ve been MIA this week. Lemme tell you something. Writer Yolandie is obsessive to a fault.
I’ve been doing little else than write or work on stuff related to my novel (except for this fanfic that pulled me off course for a moment) and I’m more than a little anxious to get back to work even as I’m writing this post. There are a few reasons for my sudden frantic keyboard-slamming.
# 1, inspiration has struck. When inspired, write like there’s no tomorrow, because tomorrow the storylines may be blocked up again.
#2, the greatest city in the world, AKA London, is calling. Next week, we’ll be doing wedding-y stuff and I doubt there will be time to write.
#3, I really, really, reeeeeeeeally want to finish this novel at some friggen point. I don’t know how many edits in the world turn into rewrites (and I so wasn’t planning a rewrite), but this one has. I’m super excited about the results though.
Add to the writing thing, we also had our first experience with the medical system in Germany, because we had to take Kayla for a vaccination and check up. These things were done a lot differently in South Africa.
And then there’s this grief thing. One day I’m fine and the next not so much. They call it ‘stages’ of grief, as if you can expect the emotions to come in set phases, in a certain order. Truth? Not so much. It’s jumbled and confusing.
Anyway. Since I’ll be in the UK next week, there’s a fair chance I won’t post something. I’ll see you the week after with photos from the trip.
I hope you all have a blessed Easter.
