I know, I know, I didn’t post last week.
I also wasn’t on other social media much. In fact, I didn’t even check Instagram often enough to know about the whole Lime Crime drama until late last night. It seems my lack of an internet presence has worried more people than I initially realised. After my first friend called me and said she was worried about me (you know who you are and I love you!! :D), I thought nothing of it. But when the second and third friends started commenting on it (you know who you are and I love you too!! :D), I realised that people were a little freaked out.
I’ve been MIA, because I’ve been incredibly inspired and sort of overwhelmed lately. Some stuff has been happening, sure enough, and when added up, I’ve been sort of stressed. But I’m not here to bore you with my personal junk! On the other side I’ve been writing up a storm. I’m at over 200 pages in 3 weeks at the moment, and I did a re-write in that time too. I’ve been having something akin to diarrhea of the fingertips, with words just running out of them when they hit a keyboard. That was a fabulous mental image, I know. 🙂
The point is, I promise you, I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth. I’m just writing in every spare moment I can manage. On top of that, the final proofreaders are coming back with their thoughts on The Queen’s Fury, and I’ve been preparing some stuff behind the scenes for that. I’m really excited about the conclusion of the trilogy!! And then this new novel project of mine has me bouncing around like a rubber ball. More on that at some point, otherwise I’ll start to babble right now. I’ve also started one or two other new projects, which takes up some of my time, and then there’s the whole mother-of-a-one-year-old-thing.
Otherwise, we’ve been having this weird situation in South Africa. We’re experiencing major problems with electricity, so now they’re doing this thing where they have controlled power outages at certain times to ‘shed the electricity load’. Hence, they call it load shedding and it’s the bane of my existence. Our power goes out for four and a half hours at a time, and a lot more often than you might think. So I’ll be right in the middle of that sentence, right at the pivotal moment in a chapter, and then the power will dip without me having saved. I’ve lost chapters to this!! Haha!
I’m also going to do some cool things in collaboration with Liani and Rita, my cousin Anschke (who’s becoming an MUA as we speak!!), and maybe even an up and coming artist. I’ll blog all of that when the time comes.
Thank you for sticking with me!
Stay beautiful and be kind to animals,
Yolandie
